The learning process in the Medical Education Study Program (PSPD) of the UPN Medical Faculty is carried out using Competency-based Training, which includes clinical competence and public health management. PSPD in FK UPN consists of rotations in 16 departments that are passed within 4 semesters. Rotation is the length of time required by young doctors to complete professional education activities in a department. The rotation schedule for each group is determined by the PSPD Manager.
The total credit load for all stages of education is equivalent to 42½ Semester Credit Units (SKS). Furthermore, to strengthen the independence of new doctors, a 12-month Internsip Program is conducted under the Indonesian Doctors Internship Committee (KIDI).
After being declared graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, passing the Indonesian Doctor Competency Exam and taking the doctor’s oath, a graduate of the Medical Education Study Program has the right to hold the title of doctor.
Work prospect:
To be able to do medical profession, UPN PSPD graduates must first undergo an internship program for 12 months to then get a Registration Certificate (STR) from the Indonesian Medical Council. This letter is one of the prerequisites for obtaining a Practice License (SIP). After obtaining SIP, a doctor can practice medicine.
The intership program is the process of strengthening the quality of the doctor’s profession to apply the competencies obtained during education, in an integrated, comprehensive, independent manner and using a family medicine approach and the alignment of educational outcomes with practice in the field.
FK UPN Medical Professional Study Program graduates can work as:
Primary Service Practitioners who practice privately or in agencies (government or private), for example in clinics, health centers and hospitals
Educators (Lecturers)
